Weather summary
for Quebec
issued by Environment Canada
at 11:19 a.m. EST Saturday 20 January 2018.

Discussion.

A low pressure system from Northern Ontario is moving toward the
Gulf of St Lawrence and is generating strong winds over several
areas of the province. Snow is currently accumulating over Eastern
Quebec and blowing snow is causing difficult road conditions
locally.

In the Lac-Saint-Jean area, snowfall amounts reached 10 to 15
centimetres of snow north and northeast of the lake. Areas south of
Lake received only a few cm of snow as southwest winds have dried
out the air as it blew downward toward the low-lying areas of
Lac-Saint-Jean. In the Saguenay area, 15 to 20 centimetres of snow
were reported. In these areas, snowfalls have further weakened and
flurries will taper off during the day.

Snowfall warnings are still in effect for parts of the North Shore
where snowfall amounts in excess of 15 centimetres are also
expected. The Sept-Iles area has already received about 10
centimetres. Please refer to the latest public forecasts for further
details.
